Since 1978, Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has given permission for small scale climbing of 18 +15 peaks without requiring a lengthy application process as it does for major mountains. However, the following are required - a simple application with a preparation fee, equipment, fuel, insurance, date, size of team, guides and porters. The fee is determined by elevation, size of group and degree of difficulty of the peak. Out of all of the peaks, some are more demanding, requiring higher skilled techniques and better equipment such as Kusum Kangru, Lobuje and Amadablum. To climb these peaks we need a safe and well-equipped Base Camp and High Camp are required
